Albanians remain on the list of the most deported citizens from countries of the European Union.
According to Eurostat data, during the second quarter of the year, Albanians were third in the list with 6,640 citizens who were deported from a country of the union.
At the top were Algerians with 8170 deportations and then the Moroccans with 7235.
According to Eurostat data, Albanians are also the most persistent when it comes to staying in an EU country.
Eurostat classifies us at the top of citizens who, after being expelled from one EU country, entered another EU member state during the second quarter of the year.
2650, or almost half of the deportees in this period entered another country. In second place were Georgians with about 2,000 of them.
In the second quarter, deportations from the EU increased by 15 % compared to the same period last year.
In total, about 95 000 immigrants, or asylum seekers, were deported.
The country with the highest number of deportations was France.
