Two Albanian citizens were arrested by order of Prosecutor’s Office(SPAK) as part of a criminal group that trafficked 2 tons of cocaine from Latin America to Italy. The joint investigations between the Italian authorities and SPAK led to the control of 18 apartments in Kavaja and Puka.
Julian Kollçaku and Maksim Ndoci have been arrested as part of the coded operation “BOCA DEH RIO” by the agents of the National Bureau of Investigation, after the investigations that had started in 2021 by the anti-mafia of Florence. The drug shipments, which started from Latin America, arrived at the Italian ports of Livorno, Gevona and Savona.
The clearing of communications in the SKY ECC application has played a key role in the discovery of the network, in which Albanians were also part.
The criminal group used radio-location equipment and GPS to facilitate operations to identify and find cocaine, which was hidden inside containers loaded with exotic fruits or in special spaces created for this purpose.
This criminal group, also composed of Italian and Romanian citizens, is responsible for the trafficking of two tons of cocaine, which, if it were to be released on the market, would benefit about 70 million euros. During checks in 18 apartments in Albania, mainly in Kavaja and Puka, cash, luxury vehicles and watches of expensive brands were found and seized.
Sky ECC has provided important information that has helped in the engagement of joint investigation groups between SPAK and foreign authorities, to clarify the narcotics traffic, both in Albania, and for Albanian citizens who have dominance in the cocaine trade from Latin America in Europe.
