Kosovo was extremely lucky to have someone that identified the war in Kosovo as a personal matter in its most critical years, that is 1998-1999.
These were the words used by renowned Kosovar Albanian publicist and politician Veton Surroi, in an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania.
“She became the voice that put into motion the Clinton administration into protecting Kosovo from genocide and then into the voice of the transatlantic union, going to every country in Europe and unify them for the defense of Kosovo “, says Surroi.
He also recalled the negotiations of the Kosovar delegation that concluded with the Rambouillet Agreement, with Albright being one of the main supporters.

“I know her from the 90s. She was a person with a vast knowledge not only of European history but also in her positioning after the fall of the Berlin Wall. She had a great sense of humor and knew how to use that wisely”, he said.
“She was very straightforward and would say what was on her mind in an undiplomatic manner. We’ve also witnessed that as the Kosovo delegation. But by building up trust, she would consider you a member of the family. In Rambouillet, she was one of those tough relatives that are there to help you out”, concluded Surroi.
