The US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim, declared on Monday that the government is committed to its fight against corruption.
In her address from the first National Anti-Corruption Conference held at the Palace of Congresses, Ambassador Kim reiterated that the US wants to have Albania as a ‘partner’, and not a ‘problem’.
“I have to guess that from the size of the crowd in this hall, this means that the government of Albania is strongly committed to the fight against corruption in a way that exceeds its previous commitment and for that, it should be congratulated and encouraged”, the US Ambassador said.
“We, as the United States, want Albania to be strong, independent, rich, and to be a full partner. We want Albania to be increasingly a partner, not a problem”, added Ambassador Kim.
Kim added that the war on corruption can only be fought by Albania itself and that the US will be supportive in every step.
