American ambassador Yuri Kim told the media that the US will take action against Iran as a response to the cyber-attack on Albania.
Kim underlined that Albania is a friend and ally of the United States.
“We have seen the statement made by Prime Minister Rama today at noon. The White House has responded immediately and forcefully. It should be clear that when our friend and ally, Albania, is under attack, the US will take action”, said Kim after the meeting with the Speaker of Parliament, Lindita Nikolla, and MP Agron Gjekmarkaj.
This Wednesday, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that Iran was behind the July 15th cyber-attack.
During a speech published on social media, Rama emphasized that Albania will sever diplomatic relations with this country.
Rama also requested that the diplomatic staff of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran leave Albania within the next 24 hours.
