‘The current Democratic Party, is a fossil that must destroy its structure and pave the way for the contingencies that could actually bring about the union’.
This is how the analyst Arben Mece described the DP, while underlining that the merger is not going to happen for two reasons.
The first lies in the ideological prism, because there are two parties that are divided in their attitude towards Sali Berisha.
The second is related to the scheme that is being worked on for this so-called merger. Mece raised the question regarding the status with which both of these party factions will sit at the roundtable and face one another.
“Everything starts and ends here. This is a political movement where both sides try to gain ground in the so-called ‘union of the Democrats’. They are acting as if they are joining together,” said the analyst.
