Analysts Andi Bushati and Baton Haxhiu debated over the recent internal developments in the Democratic Party, and ultimately who is on the right. Basha or Berisha?

According to Haxhiu, even if Berisha still had the support, he should not be allowed to return to the party’s leadership.

“I would rather support Basha with a minority than a liar in retrograde. What Berisha is doing is not ‘democracy’. In the name of an illusory democracy, I would endorse Basha”, he told Bushati.

On the other side, Bushati maintained that “Berisha got the votes” and reminded him that in a democracy it is the majority that gets to decide. According to him, the issue goes beyond Basha and Berisha.

Haxhiu reacted by saying that even Slobodan Milosevic “had a majority”, but thousands died for the sake of one man.

“I am on the side of the majority but there are moments that can lead to destruction. Milosevic maintained a majority from 1983 to 2001. Today, we have thousands who were murdered due to one man. This man (Berisha) never used any democratic models in the past 30 years”, he said.
