Analyst Andi Bushati said that he agrees with the head of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha that the state is captured by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

During an interview for “Now” with Erla Mehilli on Euronews Albania, Bushati addressed Berisha, by asking how they will prove that the vote in the local elections will be stolen at a time when Erion Veliaj has the complete support of the media.

Furthermore, he said that the current system distorts the vote by adding that this will most defently create inequality in the local elections of 2023.

“Mr. Berisha, I agree with your analysis of the capture of the state by Rama, but when it comes to voting, we are not at a time when votes are stolen like in ’96-’97, so by breaking the boxes. Today, it is the system that distorts the vote. Veliaj might as well be working for SPAK; Veliaj has the whole media system on his side and this creates inequality in the elections. At this moment the race is totally unequal.

When election day comes around, people will be voting across this major backdrop. How will you prove before or after the election that the vote was tampered with? I am convinced that the vote is already affected. But how do you expect to protect these elections?” – argued Bushati.
