From today, children over the age of 12 in Albania will be allowed to get their anti-COVID shot.
However, for all those over the age of 15, massive vaccination won’t be mandated, said Public Health Institute (ISHP) expert, Erida Nelaj for Euronews Albania.
Nelaj specified that the age group from 12-15, will be vaccinated with a recommendation of their family doctor. Children suffering from chronic diseases will be given priority.
“The first to get vaccinated will be children with underlying conditions,” -said Nelaj.
In addition, teens from 16-17 years old can get their anti-COVID shots, even if they haven’t been diagnosed with an underlying medical condition.
The vaccine that will be administered to children over the age of 12, will be the one produced by PfizerBioNTech, reported the ISHP expert.
