Analyst Andi Bushati said on Monday that the April 30 National Assembly failed to reunite Democrats as it wasn’t attended by the majority of the party’s MPs.

Bushati told anchor Bruna Cifligu from Shock that Berisha is not making the DP “more united and open” as he is taking every decision by himself, without even hearing the other faction.

“Sali Berisha based his entire mission on regaining the control of the DP, primarily claiming that he’s the only one that can defeat Edi Rama, and he established that on two grounds. Over a united and opened party”, said Bushati.

“The Assembly we saw on Saturday was not the picture of a united party, nor an open one. An assembly refuted by 2/3 of its parliamentary group cannot represent a united party”, he added.

Meanwhile, analyst Baton Haxhiu emphasized that Berisha’s main focus is to take over control and not get entangled in a discussion with MPs that are against him.

Haxhiu said he’s confident that Berisha will be reelected to the party’s leadership on May 22.
