American citizens are asked to avoid the Boulevard ‘Martyrs of the Nation’ during the protest called by the opposition.

The message was forwarded to them by the American Embassy in Tirana.

“Although many of these protests are peaceful, – the message of the US Embassy states that “the situation can change quickly and unpredictably. Get informed from local media and follow the instructions of law enforcement authorities for the latest information,” the message concludes.

The opposition has called a protest in the capital city on Saturday at 16:00. Sali Berisha has called on the citizens to escalate the forms of protest, even up to civil disobedience, while the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has ruled out the possibility of the protest being violent.

The November 12 rally is the first one called by the opposition since July 7.
