Head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha spoke in today’s plenum regarding the recent farmers’ protests.
According to him, the government’s new fiscal policies are pushing farmers towards bankruptcy, in spite of their contributions to our economy.
“…He insulted them with his theater earlier today that disgusts me, especially when they use journalists who they pay in concessions and favors that have turned them into arrogant oligarchs. They [farmers] protest today like they have every single year, because unlike what you keep uttering out-and-about, the budget for agriculture this year will be lower than the year before,” – said the DP chair.
Meanwhile, the head of SP’s parliamentary group, Taulant Balla said that the Rama administration has invested in agriculture more than any previous government.
In his comeback to the DP chair, Balla said that when Democrats were in power, they didn’t spend a single dime on farmers.
