Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha declared that the no. 1 problem with bad governance is corruption.
“Albanians aren’t poor, but they have been robbed. They’ve stolen from the budget of Albanian citizens. For months, the incinerators mafia has been the main sponsors behind taking down each news story, censuring every media outlet and even firing journalists from their place of work,” – said Basha.
In addition, he said that this mafia hasn’t been able to shut up the Democratic Party, who has been making public calls for some time, while also following the legal steps and filing charges at SPAK.
“The no. 1 mission is the war against corruption and crime. The vetting of politicians is a device to fight corruption and crime. We will do our part in fighting Rama’s mounting corruption. We are on the side of all acts of justice against corruption,” – said DP’s chair.
Basha also underlined that DP’s former leadership was also involved in corruption but they are nonetheless determined to fight it and walk towards the future.
“Corruption was present in DP’s former leadership also, but we are determined to fight it and walk forward towards the future that Albanian citizens want and deserve. We are determined to walk forward, to part ways with the bad portion of our past and to choose our future – something which can only be achieved and guaranteed by us,” – said Basha.
