The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, visited Kukes today as part of his electoral campaign where he met with citizens and business owners in the city.
In front of his supporters, who had come out to welcome him at “Rruga e Kombit” (translated as Nation’s Highway and connecting Albania to Kosovo) he pledged that when the Democratic Party assumes power, they will remove the €6 toll that has to be paid in order to cross the highway.
“You’ll only see that toll booth for another 3 weeks. On April 25, Albania will vote for the change, Kukes will vote for the change and the first change that will come for all Albanians, from Konispol to Podujeva will be to lift the toll on the Nation’s Highway. Not a long time has passed, since when our hearts were filled with the faith of being one nation which built the longest tunnel in the Balkans and connected Albania to Kosovo”, said Basha.
Furthermore, the leader of the Democrats accused Prime Minister Edi Rama to have damaged the economy and severed ties with Kosovo.
“We built the road; he built the toll booth. I want to reiterate this today, that a vote for the DP on April 25 is a vote to tear away that booth and remove any obstacle between Albania and Kosovo”, emphasized Lulzim Basha.
