During tonight’s ‘Now’ with Erla Mehillit, Democratic MP, Aldo Bumci criticized the current party leader, Lulzim Basha, saying that today people trust Berisha, not because they follow him blindly but because Basha has been all talk, and little action – never being able to bring victory to the Democratic Party.

“The reason why Democrats are voting for Berisha represents the battle within DP,” – said Bumci.

The former MFA also maintained that Berisha is inspiring hope and restoring faith amongst Democrats that DP can come back up.

In addition, he said that “Socialists talk about Berisha’s flaws day in and day out, but Basha lacks the courage to compete alongside him”.

“If Democrats didn’t trust Berisha, they wouldn’t go to his Pulpit meetings. Why hasn’t Basha openly called this race and defeat him, since this is presumably someone that no one follows? Why do people follow him? What does he give them? Money, work, what is he offering people after 8 years in opposition. He has nothing to offer. Berisha is non-grata and theirs is still a lost cause. So, why does this man speak to them? The answer to that is faith. This man has actions, he isn’t all talk,” – said Bumci.
