DP chair, Lulzim Basha has declared that Democrats are determined to fight the war against corruption and that they have the support of the United States government.
In addition, Basha underlined that part of his discussions with the Deputy Assistant State Secretary, Gabriel Escobar, was the current political scene in Tirana as well as the situation in the region, putting a special emphasis on the rights of Albanians in Kosovo.
“I made DP’s stance clear about the fact that Kosovo’s territorial integrity shouldn’t be meddled with,” – said Basha.
In regards to Berishas non-grata, Basha said that: “The issue of impunity, like the politics of sanctions and non grata was definitely part of our discussions. You will be able to hear to decisions of the US Department of State directly from Mr. Escobar.”
Basha also welcomed Escobar’s invitation for an official visit in Washington DC, while adding that he will be planning a trip to the United States very soon.
