EU finances tenders that follow correct procedures – but it’s exactly these tenders, according to DP’s Lulzim Basha, that aren’t particularly favored by PM Rama because he doesn’t have access to manipulate them.
“In your tenders, there’s no competition because you’re the one that decides, not only about the bribes but also about how they get divided,” – said Basha.
In his statement before Parliament, Basha emphasized that this is the system established by PM Rama – a system he wants to keep until the end of his term and at any cost.
On the other hand, the PM admitted that he is very grateful to the EU for all their support and funding while suggesting that the DP leader ‘hold his tongue’ when speaking about theft.
“What if all the investments made by the Albanian government for schools have a lower cost than those made by the EU program, in terms of the cost of time, for the same standards and criteria? What does the previous speaker have to say about that? All that’s left in fact, is what’s always been the case with him, losing,” – said Rama.
In regards to the accusations that there are still families currently living in tents due to damages caused by the earthquake, PM Rama said that there is a total of 400 families that are living in tents at the moment and they have their own reasons, not because they didn’t receive the government bonus.
