The leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha met with around 500 former Socialists that have declared that they want to be a part of the “change on April 25”, which has been the slogan of the campaign of the Democrats.

As he thanked them for shifting their allegiance to the DP, Basha said that the prime minister and a group of oligarchs have joined forces to “extort the assets of the country”.

“In Durres, a city abandoned to the mercy of the fate after the earthquake, the earthquake of greed struck, the earthquake of corruption that wants to steal the land of the families of Durres for the construction mafia,” said Basha.

The leader of the Democrats appealed to civil servants to be a part of the upcoming change and not fall prey to pressure that they might lose their jobs.

“What brings us together today is not the Democratic Party, but the desire, decision, will, and awareness that there is no other path apart from change for Albania”, concluded Basha.
