Nine years after breaking off from their 2009 pact, Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta will join forces in creating an opposition front against Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The leader of the Democrats, Sali Berisha said he felt “confident” this time around, and ruled out any cracks in their current relations.
“Nothing will stop our battle against Edi Rama. I’m not afraid of any betrayal from Meta”, Berisha said.

That is after Berisha asked Meta not to decree the discharge of Bajram Begaj as general commander, a move that cleared the latter’s path to the presidency.
