Today, Democratic Party chairman, Sali Berisha called on teachers, students, doctors, and lecturers to go on a general strike due to the difficult conditions in which they have to work.

“I am here to call on all the teachers of Albania with the guts and the courage to defend their interests, to defend the belittlement, the contempt that this government has waged against them. They are the only teachers in the region who for the past 8 years, have not only had a raise but compared to inflation, they have suffered a significant loss in their salary. They are the most despised people in the administration when they should be the most honored people for the noble mission of their service to society,” said Berisha.

Berisha also included doctors, students, and businessmen in his appeal, suggesting that they shut their doors and close down their shops, due to the difficult situation they find themselves in.

“I am addressing here the small business sector that has a real enemy in this administration, which is expecting the end of 2 months to be imposed 23%, which increased the energy tariff to 200 ALL. What are they waiting for? The call of every businessman is to shutter their businesses and go on a general strike”, said Berisha.
