The Democratic Party Youth Forum has asked the current chair, Lulzim Basha to resign. This comes a few days after Basha called for an open vote that will restructure this forum.
As a result, in today’s meeting – part of his nationwide ‘pulpit’ tour – former DP leader, Sali Berisha declared that Basha will be ousted during the National Assembly on December 11.
Berisha compared Basha to Rama, saying that one is a killer of hope whereas the other doesn’t give any hope.
“Nowadays, there are two major problems facing Albania, the killed of hope or the head of the medusa and the one that has no hope, his hostage, Lulzim Basha, who has been taken hostage and as such, obeys to every order dictated by his kidnapper,” – said Berisha.
According to him, Basha has lost his ‘moral compasses’ and is now scared of the debate within DP as well.
“His place, were he a man, should have been here in front of all of you. He should have been here, in an open debate but instead, he is locked in his office and gives orders over the phone,” – said Berisha.
Lastly, the former PM called for a return of decision-making power within the Democratic Party and its members, adding that this is the only way to reignite the hope amongst citizens.
