Former prime minister Sali Berisha said that the demolition of the houses at 5 Maji street is a “human drama” that has left families out in the open sky.
“It is the human drama of some citizens whose houses were demolished beyond any legal or constitutional norm, although they had been living there for 20 years”, said Berisha while making his way to parliament.
The Democrat MP said he supports the capital’s infrastructural developments but is against barbarous acts involving citizens.
“There are moral obligations. You must explain what the program is and hear their conditions”, added Berisha.
On Thursday, the residents affected by the demolitions marched toward the Parliament and then the City Hall chanting “We are not illegal”.
