After voting on party statute amendments, Sali Berisha told the media that the Assembly convened on Saturday had a major significance and served to unite Democrats.
Asked by Euronews Albania journalist Ardit Hoxha whether the absence of some 60% of the party’s MPs could mean the opposite, Berisha said he guarantees that the Assembly led to unification.
“Today hundreds of delegates attended the Assembly. There are dozens and dozens of nominees for members of the National Council on that list,” said the former prime minister.”
Berisha said his main goal was to unify the party from a ground-up approach, adding that attendees can bear witness to how united the Democratic Party has become today.
