Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, should apologize to him and Democrats, regarding a statement made by her a few months ago, where she asked the party’s membership not to vote for him as chair.

In a statement to the press from DP’s headquarters, Berisha emphasized that since Yuri Kim said something of this nature to the Democrats, she has broken all relations with him and cannot meet him without apologizing.

According to him, the American diplomat should respect the free vote in the Democratic Party.

“Besides, that grass phrase went viral. Enver Hoxha told Albanians that we will eat grass and we will not submit to the American imperialists, while this madam told Democrats that they will eat grass. This is where she broke her relationship with Sali Berisha. I have told her that without a public apology, she will not meet with Sali Berisha.

Despite being a representative of the most powerful country in the world, no one is free from error and arrogance is not a virtue. She should apologize and only then will we discuss the rest,” claimed the head of DP.
