The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at the meeting of the Parliamentary Group, said that Rama’s attacks on universities were as if Enver Hoxha had trained him.

“Who is this who is invoking Hoxha’s identity to these people? He is the head of one of the most criminal organizations in Europe, who says that he signs hundreds of millions of dollars, at a time when the specialized entities of the state tell him that they cannot be signed and that they are in flagrant violation of the law. But the ‘law of the pocket’ prevails over all other laws. He has the nerve to ask for vetting of teachers,” said Berisha.

The chief Democrat also underlined that Prime Minister Edi Rama, with an indescribable hatred towards teachers, deprived them of the process of scientific grades and promotions.

“With a drop of the pencil, with an indescribable hatred towards lecturers, they were deprived of this vital function for their development, progress, elevation, consolidation as a national elite. We have raised this issue dozens of times in Parliament. The only institution that continued the doctorate was the institution that had submitted a mega-bribe to the government. So, a private institution. Public institutions were not allowed by the ministry to conduct doctorates. However, Albanian citizens should know that doctorates are the most essential element of scientific research. The one who performs it and the one who leads it, manage to give a product, sometimes fundamental and original for science, despite the fact that we are in Albania. This also happened during the years of the dictatorship, but unfortuantly, not today,” he added.
