The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the agreement signed between him and the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, for the May 14 local elections, is a historic moment in the country’s political history.
During the joint conference with Meta, Berisha said that the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, should be in prison, not running for another mandate.
According to him, Veliaj has deceived the citizens of Tirana and committed monstrous thefts.
“I greet all the citizens who follow this historic moment in the political development of Albania, this moment that marks the agreement for the battle of the citizens of Tirana, for the first city that they deserve, that reflects their values, spirit, virtues and morals. To give Tirana and cities all over the country, real citizens’ parliaments, dignified representatives of citizens, to give Tirana a powerful parliament.
