“The Democratic Party will return, with its conservative values and stronger than ever.”

This was the latest public statement made by Sali Berisha, during his ‘Pulpit’ tour, which made a layover in Kamez earlier today, where the former DP leader maintained that Democrats will come back to power and that their relations with the US will remain unaltered.

In tonight’s speech, however, Berisha made no mention of DP leader, Lulzim Basha, but he did indirectly accuse him of being ‘captured’ by Rama.

“A real opposition is essential for democracy in Albania. An opposition, whose decisions are made by others, will never come to power. It’s a pseudo-opposition,” – said the former prime minister.

Berisha, who resigned from all party functions after losing the parliamentary elections in 2013, drew a comparison with how much things have changed in the last 8 years.

“If someone asks me what is different with Sali Berisha in 2013 compared to Sali Berisha in 2021? I can tell you that I sleep less than in 2013, I read more and I work much more. This is the difference,” – said Berisha.
