So far, the situation at the Democratic Party seems calm, as we are only an hour away from today’s protest at Blvd. Deshmoret e Kombit.

Euronews Albania’s journalist Ardit Hoxha reported that the Democratic Party leader, Sai Berisha, is the last person who will speak in today’s protest.

The one to speak before him will be the leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI), Monika Kryemadhi.

There will be 20 speakers in total during tonight’s protest, 4 of whom are members of parliament, whereas the others will be civil society activists and public figures that have joined Berisha’s call to protest.

Berisha, along with several young Democrats, will meet at DP’s headquarters, from where they will join the other protestors at the main boulevard.

Over 1.000 police officers have been deployed and will be on the ground tonight to keep the situation under control and several roads will be closed from 16:00 – 21:00 CET when the protest is said to finish.
