The border crossing point of Kapshtica located in the city of Korça, will be closed until July 3rd. The news was confirmed by the Customs Directory of Albania, which also added that this decision was made after the neighboring country of Greece, postponed its deadline on the closure of its border cross point of Krystallopigi because of the current epidemiological situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Based on the official notice of the Greek Police Authorities in Krystallopigi border checkpoint, we are announcing the postponement of the closure of the Kapshtica border crossing point until July 3rd 2021,” states the notice.
As a consequence, departure from Albania and entry into Greece through this border point will be suspended, whereas departures from Greece and entries into our country will be allowed from 06:00 a.m. – 22:00 p.m., only for pedestrians and high tonnage vehicles.
Greek authorities have also confirmed that his decision excludes seasonal workers, that possess Greek visas and documents.
“According to Greek authorities, the passage of up to 400 people a day will be allowed, which applies only to seasonal workers, who have a work permit issued by Greek authorities,” explains the notice further.
Vehicles, taxis and other passenger modes of transportation won’t be allowed to pass through, whereas in the border checkpoint of Kakavija, work continues normally.
