The Director General of the Albanian State Police, Ilir Proda, hosted a meeting this Thursday at the headquarters of the State Police with the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, João Tabajara De Oliveira Júnior, and Deputy Ambassador, Minister-Counselor Ricardo Primo Portugal.
The Director and the Ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of their respective organizations to enhance cooperation under the coordination of INTERPOL and EUROPOL, aiming to dismantle networks involved in trafficking and other international crimes.
Both parties highlighted the successful collaboration between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries, which has already led to the identification and disruption of several cases of trafficking women and girls from Brazil for the purpose of prostitution in Albania.
They also agreed to extend this cooperation beyond policing activities. Plans include offering specialized training for officers working on criminal investigations, sharing best practices and methodologies in law enforcement, and providing technological assistance to strengthen the fight against organized crime.
