The deputy prime minister of North Macedonia, as well spokesperson of the Democratic Union for Integration, commended the electoral process and emphasized that it showed the country’s mature democracy.
Bujar Osmani pointed to the voter turnout, recorded at over 50%, adding that local governance representatives were given “full legitimacy”.
He also stated that he expects results to show strong support for the Democratic Union for Integration, which is the largest ethnic Albanian political party in North Macedonia.
According to him, the party secured victory in Saraj, Pllasnica, and Likova in the first round of the elections, adding that they are also leading in all municipalities in the northwest.
