According to analyst Andi Bushati, during today’s Rama-Kurti meeting, both leaders tried to overlook all mutual disagreements by completley disregarding the Open Balkan dispute and all other issues which they don’t see eye to eye on.

“We know very well that both parties, I can’t say hate eachother but they are politically against one another. The real situation speaks of a political cold war which is very far from the beautiful postcard they like to throw at us,” said Bushati.

According to Bushati, Rama is using the same strategy in both Albania and Kosovo. The analyst claimed that Albania’s PM is looking to recrute Kosovo’s oligarchs in order to turn them against Kurti.

Rama is doing this according to Bushati, by doing things like lifting customs tariffs on Kosovo businesses.

“After finishing up with Albanian oligarchs, he’s recruiting Kosovo’s oligarchs in order to turn them against their own government,” said the analyst.

Meanwhile, analyst Baton Haxhiu said that today’s meeting was only a formal one between 2 political leaders lacking any sort of mutual love for one another. In addition, he said that “there was no hypocrisy because the stance on Open Balkan has been clear all along”.

“There was no hypocrisy but there were clear differences of opinion,” said Haxhiu while adding that the Kurti administration is one of the weakest in Kosovo’s history when it comes to relations between Kosovo and Albania.
