Political parties will have 125 million Albanian Lek (around €1,016,000) at their disposal ahead of the general elections due on the 25 of April.

The fund is almost double the amount compared to 2017 elections, and according to the Central Election Commission’ draft, the largest proportion of the sum will go to the Socialist Party, respectively 55 million ALL (approx. €447.000), while the Democratic Party will receive 33 million ALL (€268.000), followed by the Socialist Movement for Integration 19 million ALL (€154.000), and the rest to smaller parties.

Although not enrolled in these elections, the Social Democratic Party, the Real Socialist Party (PSV91) as well as Libra, will also benefit from the fund. In the past elections, each of them received over 1% of the votes.

After listing all political parties, discussions are set to begin over the format of the ballot papers.

So far, there are four different models that have been proposed, but only one of them does not include the names of the candidates but lists them numerically.
