The Central Elections Commission (CEC) has decided today on the distribution of commissioners in the CEAZs for the local elections set to take place on May 14.
The SP will propose 2 members for each CEAZ as the largest majority party and the Democratic Party 2 members as the largest opposition party.
The Social Democratic Party and the Freedom Party will each have one member as the second largest majority and opposition parties.
The seventh member will be chosen by a draw, half of the CEAZ will be from the SP and in the other half from the Democratic Party headed by Enkelejd Alibeaj.
This decision by the CEC for the organization of the May 14 electoral process can be considered the first loss for Sali Berisha, since until now he remains without any representatives in the Zonal Electoral Administration Commissions. During this meeting, Commissioner Celibashi dismissed the cases of the candidates for MP in the elections of April 25, 2021, Agron Kapllanaj and Kleo Murataj, arguing that their punishments are outside the deadlines provided by law.
