During a statement for the press, the State Commissioner for the Elections, Ilirjan Celibashi described the situation in all the voting stations, adding that only in one of the centers, respectively 5199, there have been interruptions in the voting process.
Meanwhile, in terms of the biometric identification of voters, Celibashi said that only in 22 centers this procedure is now being processed manually and that it will continue this way, until the end of the process.
He said that “issues come as a result of the low level of information possessed by operators as well as problems exhibited by the devices linked with printing”.
In regards to the issues faced in a voting center in Lekbibaj in Tropoja, Celibashi said that they are currently working on resolving the situation, as there has been a disaccord between commissioners.
On the other hand, he warned all commissioners as well as operators that work with the identification of voters that they will be held criminally accountable if they back down from their job.
“There is no reason why small issues, of a technical or procedural nature, should be portrayed as political issues or having a political connotation. Whosoever commissioner or operator that doesn’t do their job properly or in an extreme case, backs down from their duty, they will be held criminally accountable,” said the leader of CEC.
