Kosovo is giving citizens who live abroad a chance to participate in the electoral process by mailing in their votes.

Citizens of Kosovar nationality who wish to vote in the 2021 local elections have been registered to vote through the mail from July 10 through to August 18.

A condition to be eligible to vote was to have been registered in the civil registrar and to have been a resident of Kosovo on January 1, 1998.

After getting a notification of the completed online registration, the citizen can download their ballot, fill it out and send it in the mail at the address of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) provided in the file.

The last deadline to mail in their ballot, for these citizens, was September 15 – October 15.

During the last local elections, a total of 6 570 valid votes arrived in the mail.
