The State Police showed professionalism during their management of the international face-off match between AS Roma and Feyenoord at Tirana’s ‘Air Albania’ stadium.
The Chief of Police, Gledis Nano, said that our police troupe was successful in avoiding a violent clash between the 2 fan clubs and that they contributed to portraying a positive image of our country to the world.
“The reaction from our State Police officers has been very professional and detrimental because it was able to prevent a possible clash between the two football fan clubs, from whom the police were also able to seize knives, wooden bats, steel levers, stone bricks, glass bottles, and other life-threatening objects and health hazards. In addition to these confiscations and criminal processing, the State Police was also able to deport 80 problematic fans of Roma AS back to Italy,” – said Nano.
