Candidate of “Together We Win” for the municipality of Himara, Fredi Beleri, was arrested 2 days before the May 14 local elections.
Beleri elected by vote as the mayor of Himara, and his associate, Pandeli Kokaveshi, are accused of buying votes during the campaign for the local elections, accusations which they have denied and described as political staging.
Yesterday, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction transferred the case of Beleri and Pandeli Kokaveshi to the Special Court.
The Special Appeal have decided to consider the request of Fredi Beleri and Pandeli Kokavesh on June 1.
They have appealed the decision of the Special Court against Organized Crime and Corruption that assigned them the security measure of “prison arrest”, requesting the dismissal of the case.
