Albania recorded 179 new coronavirus cases on Monday, as the total positive case count from the beginning of the pandemic topped 210,000.

Currently, there are over 6,380 active infections across the country, almost 3,000 of which are in Tirana.

Hospitalizations have seen a slight decline, with a total of 98 patients receiving medical care.

Two citizens died from COVID-19 on Sunday, a 60-year-old man from Dibra and a 66-year old from Kolonja.

According to a tally kept by national health authorities, 3,220 have died from the virus since the beginning of the outbreak.
