Albania reported 6 deaths and 942 new COVID-19 cases, after testing over 5,700 citizens.

Over the past 24 hours, 832 citizens recovered from the virus, taking the total number to 144,594.

There are currently 12,848 active cases in the country, of which over 5,400 in Tirana.

Hospitalizations have also seen a rise in the past days, with 206 patients in hospitals.

COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 2,563 citizens in Albania.

The Ministry of Health urged citizens to get the jab in order to avoid severe forms of the virus, while in September all citizens older than 18 will be eligible to get the shot.
