Albania’s single-day deaths rose again on Wednesday as authorities reported 8 victims.
The Ministry of Health urged citizens to get the jab in the country where only 34.65% of the population has received both vaccine doses.
Every citizen older than 16 can get the vaccine in Albania, by simply showing up at the nearest medical clinic, while booster doses are available to everyone older than 18.
On Wednesday, 326 citizens tested positive while the total case count from the beginning of the pandemic is around 204,627.
Currently, active cases are at 5,640 across the country although a majority have been detected in the country’s most populous city and capital Tirana.
According to a tally kept by national health authorities, 3,152 people have died from COVID-19 in Albania.
