COVID-19 update: Virus claims lives of 12, in Kosovo

Kosovo continues to report a high number of new infections from Covid-19. In the past 24 hours, 12 citizens lost their lives to the virus, whereas 529 new cases were identified out of a suspected 4413 tests conducted by the epidemiologist group.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Kosovo has reported a total of 1988 fatalities, whilst the total number of recoveries has reached well over 80 thousand.

“The total number of positive cases is 97.996, out of 475.417 suspected cases. The virus has taken the lives of 1.988 people. In the last 24 hours, 503 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 82.064. The total number of active cases is currently at 13.944,” announced IKSHPK.

The most affected communes in terms of registered daily cases are as follows:

Prishtina 194 cases, Mitrovica 66 cases, Gjilan 60 cases, Podujeva 31 cases, and Peja 27 cases.

In an effort to prevent the surging spread of Covid-19, Kosovo has continued to administer vaccines and at the moment, this process is continuing with adults over 80.
