During his word before Parliament, former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, said that the time has come to establish a National Security Agency, to deal with the analysis and security problems that face our country on a daily basis.
While referencing the recent cybernetic attacks, Mediu said that it is time for the opposition and the majority in power, to reflect and together do what is best for the country and actually solve the situation.
“Iran hasn’t just carried out a cyber-attack against us, but it will continue to do so. Not only Iran, but other countries too that do not want Albania or the Balkans to be part of the EU. The moment we are all going through should first and foremost make us reflect on our government.
A group of us – MPs – who were in the USA recently, have asked both NATO and the US for their full support. It is time to take this situation seriously. We must try to do what is best. We need to run a full assessment of all our systems, and see where our problems lie. The issue of national security is not just a government issue; this is one of the mistakes we make when it comes to running a well-functioning state. The time has come to create a National Security Agency to deal with the in-depth analysis of all of our security problems,” – argued Mediu.
