The deputy State Election Commissioner Lealba Pelinku told Euronews Albania that coverage from election operators has been “satisfactory”, although several voting stations did not have any. The deputy head of CEC said that their absence came as a result of “bad infrastructure” in remote areas.
“The lack of operations is not related to training or the number of applications but with their rejection to provide this service in remote areas, or in those areas where is no infrastructure”, she said.
During the interview with Euronews Albania journalist Ardit Hoxha, she said that the installation of electronic devices for the identification of voters was done to avoid distortions.
“This was the objective to avoid any distortion. First of all, cases of citizens showing up more than one time have been pointed out and denounced in real-time at CEC and will be subjected to a later investigation”, said Pelinku.
