Leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, commented on the recent statements made by PM Edi Rama, who considered Albanians living in the diaspora as a ‘separate electoral zone’.

In a press communication outside DP’s headquarters, Berisha slammed Rama in regards to this long-standing issue.

“I want to condemn the immense aggression present in Edi Rama’s views when it comes to considering immigrants and the diaspora a separate electoral zone,” – said the Democratic leader.

The former prime minister warned Rama of not playing with people’s basic rights and freedoms, especially those of Albanians living in the diaspora while adding that this is a thoroughly anti-democratic effort and insult towards them.

Moreover, Berisha called Alibeaj a ‘tool of the current head of government’.

“Apart from the authority granted to him by PM Rama, Alibeaj has no other authority or rank at the DP. Every one of his actions is incomplete syntony with the disgusting farse which will, in the end, be Edi Rama’s personal choice for the next President,” – he said.
