Diplomat Arjan Starova said on Now with Erla Mehilli that PM Edi Rama has recently displayed “an increasing passion to ignore Kosovo”.
“There is one thing that I don’t understand. Why is there this passion, which comes near to the borders of nervousness, to ignore Kosovo on the side of our Prime Minister? He should have been a supporter of Kosovo, and not say that it is them who need to join and that we’ll go ahead … What does this mean”, asked Starova.
“Regardless of what we say, Kosovo’s political elite is strongly against the Open Balkan”, emphasized the former foreign minister.
“These are some of the complaints that to me, make the Open Balkan – I wouldn’t say a failure – but I don’t think that it will go far”, he said.
On Tuesday, the leaders of Albania, Serbia, and North Macedonia signed 5 agreements in line with the Open Balkan.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the agreements are “tangible proof” that the Open Balkan is an initiative that aims to move forward what has been discussed in the Berlin process, which according to him failed to materialize.
