Saranda has welcomed the world championship of underwater photography with the participation of 120 divers from 4 continents, who competed in capturing the most magical moment.

This was the 20th edition of this competition, but the sixth in terms of videos made under water.

“It is the biggest event that is organized this year in Albania and in Saranda, it is for the development of tourism and underwater fauna.”

One of the organizers of the event tells why they chose Saranda.

“I have been here before and had information about the great history of Saranda, we love the underwater world and here we have seen a lot, but there are still unexplored places for all of us. We seriously love this place. “

For the divers, it is the first time they touch the Albanian waters, but they say that their cameras have captured special moments from underwater, which surprised them quite a bit.

“Albania is fantastic for divers, they discovered two great places to dive, with historical parts. I liked that here we could discover many types of fish”.

“We have been here for more than a week and the experience was very exciting. We had the opportunity to dive in two places, one shallower and one deeper. It was very very exciting, the underwater world was fantastic.”

The World Championship of Underwater Photography and Video during this week has returned Saranda to the international stage of promoting the beauty of underwater assets.
