Nearly half of DP’s voters (48.5%) would pick Sali Berisha as the party’s leader if a race were to be held today. One in three Democrats (30%) would vote for Lulzim Basha.

Only 13.2% of DP’s voters would opt for another candidate, that is neither Basha nor Berisha.

The results were retrieved from Euronews Albania’s survey Barometer after asking Albanians about the recent developments in the Democratic Party.

If DP voters were to be categorized based on their age, it turns out that for DP’s voters aged 18 to 24 and those over 65 there is not much difference between Lulzim Basha and Sali Berisha.

The difference between the two leaders is more significant in the age 55-64 age group, who prefer Basha (29%) over Berisha (14%).

Almost two in three voters (72.50%) don’t want the next candidate to be a senior DP official.

Less than one in four voters want one of the current Democratic Party politicians as the new party chairman.

The nationwide survey was conducted by MRB and Data Centrum for Euronews Albania with 1,000 face-to-face interviews carried from 20 to 30 November 2021.
