The Democratic Party has publicly accused president Ilir Meta of forming an alliance and siding with the former DP leader, Sali Berisha – in his attempt to gain back control of DP.
This reaction comes after Meta’s recent statements, part of which was him saying that ‘the January 8 developments weren’t only negative, as there were also positive instances like the fact that DP’s guard resigned so that he didn’t have to witness the violence”.
“I wish for everyone to elevate themselves to his level of responsibility,” – wrote the president.
According to DP’s reaction, Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta have formed an alliance to destroy the Democratic Party.
“The times when DP was used as a personal shield by Ilir Meta ended on Saturday 9, when DP distanced itself from Sali Berisha,” – states their declaration.
According to DP, the president’s intervention in the internal debates of their party is the same as what PM Rama has been trying to do, and is nothing but a clear sign of the ‘Berisha-Rama-Meta triangle’.
