The legal representative of the Refoundation Commission Ivi Kaso introduced on Saturday to the attendees of the National Assembly the new resolution of the Democratic Party.
The resolution maintains that the Democratic Party is against practices that involve boycotting elections, and distances itself from a practice known as burning a parliamentary mandate.
“The Democratic Party condemns and distances itself from the practice of boycotting elections. The Democratic Party brought pluralism and political freedom in Albania and it will be never part of the effort to undermine pluralism and restrict citizens’ freedoms in their political choices”, the resolution read.
“Parliamentarism is an essential value of every fee and democratic society and the Democratic Party is determined in its fight to strengthen parliamentarism. The Democratic Party will be in every battlefield where the interests of the citizens are being fought, and one of the main places where these interests can be defended is the Albanian Parliament”, read another part of the resolution.
The National Assembly decided that May 22 will be the date to elect the new leader of the Democratic Party.
